United Way Welcomes Board Members Frances Hogsten and Jim Bachmeier

 

Greater Ottawa County United Way would like to announce the addition of Jim Bachmeier and Frances Hogsten to its Board of Directors. Jim and Frances will each serve a three-year term.

Jim Bachmeier is currently the Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Grand Valley State University and a Certified Public Accountant. From 2006 through 2016, he held the role of Vice President for Finance and Administration at GVSU. In addition to serving on the board at Greater Ottawa County United Way, Jim has served or is serving on the following boards: Lakeshore Advantage, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, Grand Rapids Local Development Finance Authority, Disability Network - Lakeshore and the West Michigan Strategic Alliance. Jim resides in Jamestown Township with his wife Debbie and enjoys biking, camping and skiing.

Frances Hogsten is the Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Haworth. She has been involved with United Way for more than 15 years with prior employers within five states. She has always believed in the mission and the purpose United Way serves. Frances says, “With a process background, I am always looking to work with organizations that strive to improve the community, and do so by efficiently managing the assets they are granted. A community will benefit the most when supported by an organization that drives to eliminate waste in their processes and aim at addressing the core needs of the community.”
